Key Dates:
  • Personal tax (T1) filing deadline:  June 1st
  • Payment deadline for 2019 personal taxes:  August 31st – no interest or penalties will accumulate before then
  • Filing deadline for trusts with December 31st year end:  May 1st
  • Payment deadline for corporate income tax becoming due after today:  August 31st

So far, there have been no deferrals announced for HST or Payroll taxes, both of which the CRA consideres to be amounts owed to them in trust.  Both corporate tax and HST audits have been suspended until after August 31st however, and in general the CRA will not be initiating any collection activities for these amounts.
